Welcome to the world of retail. I have been running a shop for 10 years. People came in trying to sell me their stuff for the same price they bought years before. It's nothing new, and it isn't just online marketplaces. People are unwilling to realize they lost half of the item’s value right after they bought it and opened it.

I’ve been seeing this for the last 2 years. It’s ridiculous. I used to be able to find used baby gear in good shape for cheap. Now it’s more expensive than in store. Same issue at resale shops!!

Let me share what happened to bank card and my advice on how to avoid it. I started my own online radio station and I paid this popular online legal service to make my business official. (For legal reasons, I'm not going to name the company). Anyway, long story short, I think they did a great job. However, afterward, they started aggressively trying sell me all types of ''services'' I didn't need or want. (It even got to the point where they started charging my bank card WITHOUT my knowledge and my consent!!!) Unfortunately, these mystery charges were happening for almost a year and the only thing that saved me was I put an email alert on my bank card for charges that went past $300! (The reason I didn't know this was happening for months was because I was taking an online college course at the time and I was very tired and busy.) When I confronted them about these mystery charges, (since they're lawyers), they tried to use the legal excuse, ''There was a pattern of charges on your card for months and you didn't do anything about it.'' (Yes, because I was taking an online college course and I was busy working a job like everyone else!) Anyway, my advice to avoid this, is to place SPENDING LIMIT EMAIL ALERTS on your bank card. (It will save you a lot precious time and heartache! Trust me.) Thank you for posting this video! (You shouldn't feel embarrassed about it. It can happen to ANYONE. Including giant corporations like Microsoft, Apple & IBM. (As a matter of fact, I saw a video right here on UA-cam where a scammer from a European country, was sending fake bills to giant corporations and they were paying it without doing due diligence!! I can't remember the title of the video, but I know it was right here on UA-cam.)

im glad this video exists. i have this same problem with my friend and out last interaction made me feel so icky and made me see that we had a transactional friendship. here's the situation: my friend asks to come over to drop some books off, she is already in town. i work for a cat rescue down the street, literally a 5 minute drive from where my friend came to drop off my books. there was a sudden emergency, i asked since she was on the way, if she would take me to the cat rescue. but i knew she would not do it unless i offered her gas money. even though she was already driving around, she makes WAY more money than I do, and the amount I offered she should've declined due to the distance and time. it felt so so icky. add to the fact any one else i've asked to take me to the rescue, neighbor or coworker, has refused to take cash for it. they consider it, a service. for me. for the kitties. I knew then, money had ruined our friendship.

And also. If you’re an Apple user, Apple has a feature called “Hide My Email” that automatically does this when you sign up for anything or place your cursor over an email address box. It creates a random email assigned to that website and you can easily delete it after.

Avoid scanning anything sensitive in tools like these. Who know what you are agreeing to when you upload a file into it. You could be handing over your social insurance number, banking info, etc.
